Pakistan’s Cement Shipments Surge by 30% in July 2025 Amid Export Boom

In a notable upswing for Pakistan’s construction materials sector, cement shipments jumped by 30% compared to the same month last year, reaching nearly 4 million tonnes in July 2025. Figures released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) reveal that the total despatches climbed from 3.07 million tonnes in July 2024 to 3.99 million tonnes this year.

Breaking down the growth, domestic sales saw a steady rise of 18%, totaling 2.98 million tonnes. However, the standout contributor to this surge was exports, which almost doubled—up 84%—to 1.01 million tonnes, compared to 0.54 million tonnes the previous year. This sharp increase in overseas shipments indicates Pakistan’s cement industry is gaining stronger traction in international markets.

An APCMA spokesperson acknowledged the challenges posed by adverse weather conditions across much of the country but emphasized the overall positive start to the new fiscal year. They also expressed optimism that the momentum would carry through the remainder of 2025, buoyed by improving economic conditions.

This performance could signal growing demand for infrastructure and construction projects within Pakistan, as well as expanding opportunities abroad. With exports nearly doubling, manufacturers are increasingly turning to foreign markets to offset domestic volatility, a trend worth watching in the coming months.
