Vivo is bringing its latest flagship foldable, the X Fold5, to Pakistan, claiming the title of the lightest foldable phone on the market. Pre-orders open on August 13, with nationwide sales beginning August 19, 2025.
Slim, Strong, and Ready for the Elements
Weighing just 217 grams, the X Fold5 sports a titanium-infused metal frame with a folded thickness of 9.2mm and an unfolded profile of 4.3mm. Its engineering revolves around a custom hinge made from ultra-tough steel and carbon fiber components — a combination designed to keep it both sturdy and comfortable in daily use.
Durability isn’t just about build materials. The device carries IPX8, IPX9, and IPX9+ water resistance ratings, IP5X dust protection, and Second-Gen Armor Glass that has reportedly survived 600,000 folds in testing. Vivo even claims it can handle extreme cold down to -20°C, a rare promise for a consumer foldable.
Dual Screens for Immersive Viewing
Inside, you get an 8.03-inch AMOLED display, while the outside cover features a 6.53-inch AMOLED panel. Both push a 120Hz refresh rate and reach up to 4,500 nits peak brightness, putting them among the brightest foldable displays currently available.
Vivo has tuned the visuals with ZEISS Master Color technology and earned TÜV Rheinland certification for reduced eye strain. While lab numbers are impressive, how the screens hold up under Pakistan’s bright midday sun will be the real test.
ZEISS Cameras for All Angles
The rear triple-camera system, developed with ZEISS, is made up of three 50MP sensors:
- a primary ultra-sensing main camera
- an ultra-wide with autofocus
- a periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom
Selfie shooters aren’t left out — there are 20MP front cameras on both the main and cover displays, making it easier for vloggers and casual users to capture content without compromise.
Performance, Price, and Extras
Under the hood, the X Fold5 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Power comes from a 6,000mAh BlueVolt Silicon-Anode battery with 80W wired and 40W wireless charging.
Vivo has priced the foldable at Rs. 569,999 for the 512GB variant, and early buyers will get a free pair of vivo Buds. The company is also touting AI-powered tools like Smart Office for productivity-focused users — suggesting it wants this device to be more than just a flashy gadget.
With its blend of lightweight design, durability claims, and high-end specs, the X Fold5 is positioning itself to challenge both local and global foldable competitors.
